Social workers should be made more accountable, according
to a local MP.
Eric Pickles MP, who
represents Brentwood and Ongar, would like to see a code of conduct introduced
for social workers with a built in disciplinary procedure.
“We have just seen various reforms put forward for the
conduct of child care cases in the Family Courts”, he said. “But I don't think
they go far enough".
“Social workers should not have the free hand they appear
to have, but need rules to work by like doctors and nurses."
The MP, who has been fighting for a
Brentwood family who
lost their two children to forced adoption, said he would be looking at ways to
progress his suggestions.
He told fellow MPs he had been shocked at the way
Essex
social workers had maintained files and the misinformation contained in them,
when he pursued enquiries on behalf of the family.
During a debate on the Adoption Bill in March, Mr.
Pickles told the House of Commons that he had " been led a merry dance" by the
social services department.
He has since had several meetings with Harriet Harman,
Minister for Constitutional Affairs, who is opening up the Family Courts to the
press.

Please
NOTE.........*NOTE*.............*.NOTE*
It is most important that readers be aware that the local
authority involved is:
Essex County Council....... ..............Essex County
Council.....................Essex County Council................Essex County
Council !
The Director of Essex County Council Children's Services
is.......................................... Elizabeth Railton.
1.......Eric Pickles very politely refers to " social
workers maintained files and the misinformation contained in them".
To you and me and the courts....This is deliberate false
information that was presented to the Family Court...........................It
is PERJURY!
On such false information, two young children have been
torn from their parents and given over to adoption..........This is the
department that ' has the best interests of the child at heart'......Oh! Yeah!
Bollocks!
2........Eric Pickles MP, again tongue in cheek states,”
" he had been led a merry dance by the social workers".
The correct information is that the senior officials of
Essex County Council refused to abide by the law when Eric Pickles MP requested
sight of document presented to the Family Court, and relating to the case
involving his constituents, ' the Brentwood Low IQ couple'.
He (MP) was entitled to see the document as a result of
the DCA rule changes announced on 12 April 2005. It was unlawful to obstruct an
MP!
Not only was he obstructed, denied the document he was
entitled to see under the law.....But Essex County Council then went to court on
20 May 2005, seeking clarification from the court......The judge informed Essex
County Council that, Eric Pickles MP was entitled to the document he had
requested
In all of England & Wales....Only Essex County Council
could not understand the legislation......Only Essex County Council needed to
take an MP's request to court....In actual fact, this could be construed as a
clever bit of intimidation.........Remember, this had been done before, with
another local representative, County Councillor Barry Aspinell ( Liberal
Democrat ).....In the case of County Councillor Barry Aspinell, Judge Gypps had
again informed the County Councillor he was free to carry out his political
activities and assist his constituents.( 29 April 2005 )
Essex County Council has been using public funds to
initiate civil action against elected representatives.....that could be
construed as having other purposes.....intimidating or misinforming elected
representatives of the people, to stay away from this area and leave all of this
to council officials.
Essex County Council has been able to do this because
Parliament has no relevance to the senior officials in the council.....As this
and other examples prove.
Then as if to further demonstrate the contempt felt
towards Parliament....Elizabeth Railton, the Director of Children's Services was
nominated for the CBE ( Commander of the British Empire ) ........In effect this
is putting two fingers up to Eric Pickles MP, and Parliament.
But that is not all.......intrigued as to just who
nominated this local government official, Elizabeth Railton, for the CBE, I
wrote and asked for the identity of the person/s who had nominated Elizabeth
Railton.
I received a letter back form the Head of Law &
Administration informing me " no one at Essex County Council recommended
Elizabeth Railton for the award".
Puzzled, I then made the same request to Lord
Hanningfield, Leader of Essex County Council.........I am still awaiting a
reply.
Someone must have nominated her....Now because there are
'other matters' which have come to light...........No one will admit nominating
this official............Do you smell wet fish?
I have therefore raised this matter with the Ceremonial
Secretariat at the Cabinet Office and with a number of members of Parliament.
We know Tony Blair is running scared, after learning that
the men with the handcuffs have now interviewed his bag carrier, one Lord Levy
concerning the ' loans for peerages' scandal..........Perhaps the police should
descend on Essex County Council and begin an investigation into another
scandal........" How honours are dispensed, mysteriously, by ignoring and
kicking sand into Parliament's face'.
