Support for Birth Families

| Support for birth families 17 August 2005 Source: Children and Young People Now Nowhere in your reports "Listen to children on fostering" and "£748m more investment is needed" (Children Now, 13-19 July) does it suggest any support for the birth families of fostered children. According to these articles children should have a greater say in where they want to live, but have they been asked by social services if they want to return home? I doubt it. Obviously there are genuine cases of abuse but I wonder how many children have been taken because their parent or parents didn't meet social services' unlawful and grotesque standards, such as parents with a low IQ or those who just asked for some support.
